Abstract
This paper presents a novel method to improve the performance of speed sensorless vector control system. This method is based on the conventional method that uses feedback of q-axis flux to obtain estimated speed. To improve the dynamic performance of speed estimation, the feedforward item of estimated speed is added. Because q-axis rotor flux is controlled nearly to zero in this method, the equation for feedforward speed calculation can be obtained easily and exactly. Compared with former method, this new method has better dynamic characteristics. The effectiveness is verified by digital simulation
