Abstract
In this paper, a parameter space design method using simulation is developed and its usefulness is demonstrated through a very difficult design problem of a SPAN filter. Iso-surfaces of the permissible sets that are defined by time-domain specifications are drawn in the three dimensional parameter space by volume rendering. Practitioners can easily find a solution from the intersection of the sets. The main obstacle in the application of this method is the amount of time necessary for the computation of volume data. It is shown by numerical experiments that the computation time can be made considerably shorter by executing parallel computation on a multi-core CPU.
