Abstract
In this letter, we present a new very low-profile monopole-type antenna. The antenna is based on the principle of coupled sectorial loop antenna(CSLA). To reduce the height and increase the bandwidth of the antenna, top loading medal plate and shorting pins are employed. The proposed antenna height is 0.07λ0, where λ0 is the minimum operating wavelength and operates over relative 131% bandwidth ranging from 850MHz to 4.1GHz(VSWR≤2.5). With this low profile and the wide bandwidth characteristic, it can widely used in indoor base station applications such as GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, UMTS, IMT2000, Wibro and Wimax2350, WLan(IEEE802.11b) bands.
