Abstract
PDT was introduced to China in the late of 1970s as an experimental treatment of cancer. During the past 26 years, thousands of patients with cancerous or non-cancerous diseases have been treated by PDT and a plenty of clinical experience has been gained, especially the advanced experience in the treatment of port-wine stains (PWS), nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and condyloma acuminatum. In the future, Chinese researchers will hopefully continue to try their best to get a better understanding about the mechanism of PDT and to optimize clinical application of PDT.
