  • Abstract
    Because of sectioned power supply, there are a series of no-electricity neutral sections in every electrified railway. The way of a train running through neutral section is a special challenge for railway. A technology for multiple unit train directly running through neutral section with electric load and an automatic system based on this technology are introduced in this paper. With the use of this technology, the neutral segment can be electric fed by the two adjacent feeder lines one after another, and the electricity supply with the train hardly interrupted. It is no more necessary for the trains to frequently shut off electric load before neutral sections like in existing electrified railways, and it is also helpful to reduce speed loss and make passengers feel more comfortable. A prototyping system has been implemented and experimentally tested.
