Abstract
This paper deals with the microwave modeling of photoconductive switches. We extend the Spectral Domain Approach (SDA) to the modeling of microwave discontinuities realised on lossy substrates, which is the case of photoconductive switches. We show that, when coupled to the Complex Frequency Concept, the 3D SDA leads to a realistic electrical model of gaps on a microstrip line whose substrate conductivity is modified by an optical signal.
