Abstract
Petri net is applied to potential fault diagnosis and modeling the dynamic behavior of hydraulic systems. The potential fault in hydraulic systems is described as unobservable transition in Petri nets. Consequently a diagnoser is constructed and an algorithm is presented. The problem of fault diagnosis is transformed into solving linear equation and fault can be diagnosed through the firing of observable transitions. An example of actual hydraulic system is proposed to illustrate the validity and the feasibility of this method.
