Abstract
In EUROCRYPT 2005, Waters proposed the first efficient identity based encryption scheme which was proven fully secure in the standard model. Due to its efficiency and security attributes, Waters IBE scheme has been used in numerous diverse applications as a primitive. The security proof of Waters IBE scheme cannot be easily understood and verified for the artificial abort technique and the complex probability computation. In this paper, we provide a detailed derivation for the original probability computation, with the aim at making it easier to be understood.
