Abstract
We consider a novel channel reservation scheme for ahead cells (CRAC) in street micro-cellular systems. The scheme enables mobiles to reserve the same channel over several cells at once, in order to lessen channel changings when mobiles cross a cell boundary. Numerical results show that if the priority control which gives priority to hand-off calls over new calls is employed for the CRAC scheme, the average number of channel changings (CC) and the forced call termination rate (FCTR) of the CRAC scheme are reduced remarkably compared with the ones of the fixed channel assignment (FCA)
