This study examined the extent to which time-related work characteristics (i.e., work hours, work schedule flexibility) and self-efficacy were related to work interfere with personal life(WIPL) and personal life interfere with work(PLIW) of employees in China. Self-efficacy as a moderator between time-related work characteristics and WIPL/ PLIW was also investigated. Data were obtained from a sample of 202 fulltime employees from a variety of different organizations in different industries. The multiple regression analysis results showed that work hours were the significant predictors of work-to-life conflict and that self-efficacy could be best conceptualized as the main effect directly influencing WIPL/PLIW. Moderated multiple regression analyses showed that self-efficacy moderate the relationships among work hours and WIPL.
