  • Abstract
In the fields of global environment change and sustainable development, analysis of land uses and landscape patterns plays a very important part. Using the TM remote sensing images of Miyun County in the years of 1997, 2001 and 2007, this paper made them interpreted and classified. This paper analyzed the changes of land uses and landscape patterns in Miyun County according to the land use type transfer matrix and landscape pattern indices, and made an assessment of the ecological environment by using ecosystem service value per unit area of different terrestrial ecosystem types in China. The result showed that the main land use types of the study area are forest land, grassland and agricultural land, and grassland decreased and construction land increased under human influences. The diversity of the area was low and the increment of the degree of fragmentation was relatively significant. The overall ecological value of the area lay in the middle or high levels and didn´t change much during the study periods. The temporal and spatial variations of ecological values demonstrated the influences of land use and landscape pattern changes and structures towards the ecological environment.
