  • Abstract
The Three Gorges cascade composed of the Three Gorges and the Gezhouba. The backwater effect of the Gezhouba Reservoir and the "time lag" effects exist between the two dams make the calculation of water flow more complex. Taking into account the influence of shipping constraints, developed the Three Gorges cascade short-term scheduling method by selecting the parameters of the power plant load typical, improved the treatment of water imbalance between the two dams when solving the Saint-Venant equations by the implicit difference scheme. Examples show that the method is reasonable, effective, and has been applied to practical production.
