Abstract
Polymer concrete is now well established in many parts of the world as a viable HV insulating material. By the utilization of specially selected lightweight fillers and invoking the principles of nanotechnology a new concept of polymer concrete with far reaching implications appears to be eminently feasible. This paper discusses this new concept in the context of already known information on normal weight polymer concrete and points to needed research to reduce the concept to routine practice in the electric utility, aerospace and nautical industries.
