  • Abstract
    A novel multiple oscillator power combiner incorporating a planar antenna array loaded with active devices and mounted transversely in rectangular waveguide is described. This new approach offers significant advantages over those cavity-based combiners previously presented particularly in reduced mechanical complexity and compatibility with monolithic circuit techniques. The electromagnetic analysis of the array in rectangular waveguide is shown and is formulated in terms of an integral equation involving a Green´s function. A full-wave solution scheme employing the spatial-domain Method of Moments along with the design of a nine element array for efficient power-combining at 10 GHz.
