Abstract
The high speed drives are much interested in the industrial applications due to the compact size and high efficiency. This paper presents a torque control scheme using modified TSF(Torque Sharing Function) for the high speed SRM (Switched Reluctance Motor). Because of a short commutating duration in a high speed region, the negative torque from the tail current makes the high torque ripple. In order to reduce the torque ripple, the proposed modified TSF compensates the negative torque from the tail current in the active phase winding. The torque references of the each phase have additional compensating term to reduce the torque ripple, and the compensating value is dependent on the tail current of the inactive phase winding. So the torque ripple of the high speed SRM can be reduced with the non-flat torque reference of the modified TSF control scheme. The proposed control method is verified by simulation and experimental results compared with a conventional control scheme.
