Abstract
Nowadays, increasing information in enterprises demands new ways of searching and connecting the existing information systems. This paper presents an approach for the integration of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data focusing on the application in Environmental Engineering. Annually terabytes sized measurements of the evolution of the status indicators of the environmental factors are being performed, which require the insurance of an informational support for administrating of the database which will store the measurements data. The main focus of this paper is not to provide a complete literature review of all existing approaches or just to pinpoint the motivation for integrating of structured, semistructured and unstructured data in natural and build environmental engineering.
