Abstract
The objective for this paper is to describe a university/industry collaborative effort to develop new products for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. The focus of the paper is on the Ohio Hybrid Bus Project and its partners. Special attention is given to the development of the 200 HP liquid cooled polyphase induction traction motor for the prototype hybrid bus. Additional potential new products for electrical manufacturers are also described
