Abstract
With the advent of Cloud computing paradigm, the performance analysis of Service-oriented (SOA) applications is becoming an especially interesting field in the computer science. The performance monitoring of a SOA system is a challenging and very complex task. In this paper we elaborate common issues and solutions in the field of performance monitoring and analysis for SOA chains, and provide algorithms for both efficient performance measurement and analysis in heterogeneous SOA computing environments. Collected data can be used to identify performance bottlenecks in SOA applications, and reduce the system down-times, costs, and other negative effects of poor application performance, ultimately leading to poor end user experience.
