Abstract
A new method is proposed for monitoring miscellaneous and electronic loads (MELs) in a household. In this method, the current signal obtained at a main breaker or circuit level is disaggregated by detection of transients and classification of the waveforms. The classification is realized by probabilistic fusion of a harmonics-based classifier and a multivariate statistical technique. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
