Abstract
This paper explores the effects of power system harmonics induced by nonsinusoidal loads on power distribution systems. The first portion examines the harmonic phenomenon to more fully understand harmonic current behavior from an intuitive point of view. The second portion outlines the hazardous effect harmonic currents have on power system components and provides guidance for nonsinusoidal load power distribution system design
