Abstract
We describe distributed computing in the Ulysses II CAD framework, including automatic work station selection for executing tools, dynamic network load balancing, and task debugging. The user interface provides a single design process view, automatic tool selection, and error recovery. Design methodology is simply described using icons and menus. Powerful error analysis detects design errors. A novice, using Ulysses II, created a 64-bit ALU in 30% less time than manual design required
