Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide an energy efficiency analysis of the Cooperative Access with Relay´s Data for Multi-rate wireless local area networks (WLANs), named CARD protocol at the Medium Access Control (MAC) layer taking into account the impact of both transmission channel states and multi-rate transmission. Simulation results closely match the analytical results confirming the effectiveness of the proposed model.
