Empirical analysis on relation between ODI and foreign trade of China´s bulk commodities

For the study of Chinese bulk commodities, on the basis of existing research results from home and abroad, with data of China´s exports and outward direct investments with major countries in 2003–2008, this paper establishd a panel data model and tested and analysed the relation between outward direct investments and foreign trades. Research showd that China´s exports had significant positive effect on Chinese outward direct investment. Their relation is “cooperation” complementary relation and expansion of exports would promote foreign direct investments.
