  • Abstract
It is known that the spatial correlation between the desired signal and the undesired signals is an important parameter in adaptive array processing. In this paper, we consider the adaptive antenna of mobile communications under space-time adaptive processing (STAP), where user signals are of multipath rays with different delays, and the space-time correlation functions are employed instead of the conventional spatial correlation coefficients. The analysis results show that the array configuration has the significant effect on the associated space-time correlation functions, so as to play an important role in the STAP schemes. According to the results, a criterion is proposed to design unequally spaced linear arrays. Simulation results show that the STAP with well-designed unequally spaced linear arrays outperform the associated equally spaced linear arrays
