  • Abstract
The concept of a generalized constraint provides a basis for a significant generalization of inference processes in fuzzy logic. In this paper, generalized rules of inference for various values of r are formulated and illustrated by examples. The inference rules are interpreted as rules for generalized constraint propagation. Such rules provide a foundation for what might be called computing with words, or CW for short
