Abstract
We present in this paper the application of multiagent systems (MAS) for modeling and simulating manufacturing systems (MS). First, the basic MS concepts are briefly presented: the Product Processing System (PPS), the Moving Entity (MENT) and the Control Center (CC). Whereas the PPS models a physical resource and the MENT a product, the role of the CC is to act on the physical system to prevent and correct possible deviations. We propose an analysis between MAS concepts and MS ones, based on the metamodelling approach. The metamodels of MS agentification and the models of the application are proposed. This work is finally illustrated by an application concerning an assembling production line.
