  • Abstract
    The paper is devoted to results of long-lasting experimental studying of features of the spot burning at a liquid-metal cathode in vacuum. Various techniques were used, which are oscilloscopic registration, real-time observation with the use of high-speed IMACON 468 frame/streak camera, picosecond laser interferometry and absorption shadow imaging, time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and electron projector technique. Nonstationary processes at low-current (less than 100 A) vacuum arc discharge were the major goal of the study.
