Abstract
In the past two decades, great advances have been made in the remote sensing of sea state by HF ground wave radar. This paper describes the application of HF ground wave radar designed by HIT in the coastal monitoring and extraction of sea state information. According to the experimental results, the authors present the wind field over the Bohai Sea gulf area measured by the radar. Simultaneously, the error of wind speed calculated with two different methods has been pointed out
