Abstract
The advanced technology for microstrip patch antennas has needed the miniaturization these devices. The development of new substrates with high permittivity has allowed a considerable reduction of physical dimensions of the microstrip antennas. Therefore the development of several types of dielectric substrates, as the ceramic substrates has been required in the last decades for application in many microwaves devices and circuits of communications. The purpose of this paper is to design and to build titanium dioxide ceramics as dielectric substrate for microstrip fractal patch antennas. Lately a wide range of new applications has been observed with the development of ceramics due to their electronic and dielectric properties as well as to their high index of refraction and chemical stability.
