Evaluating the Content-Related Quality of Digital ID Images

Digital ID images are getting wide use in our social life. The automatic evaluation of the images’ quality is an important technique in the applications. An evaluation method on the content-related quality of ID images is introduced in this paper. The important attributes and their evaluating methods are analyzed in accordance with the ISO/IEC and ICAO standards. Considering the special features and restrictions of ID images, a simplified fast facial features extraction algorithm is proposed. The attributes related with the content of face image are then evaluated based on the information yielded from feature extraction results.
