Abstract
The rapid development of the Internet provides researchers with the opportunity of collaborating and communicating by means of online tools. More and more Chinese scientists and researchers in Universities or research institutions begin to use online scholarly communication services. In the paper, Chinese researchers´ needs and present condition of online scholarly communication are discussed. Questionnaire survey method was used to collect data. Descriptive statistics was used for data analysis. Results have confirmed the necessity of transforming present scholarly communication system by providing online services. Researchers´ attitudes toward online scholarly communication and their needs for online services are clarified, which specifies in the direction of improvements of online scholarly communication services in China.
