Abstract
The Vertical-Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time algorithm is a multi layer symbol detection scheme used in MIMO system to obtain multiplexing gain. Spatial Multiplexing give rise to Multistream Interference, which makes the performance of the detectors more critical. This paper aims to investigate different V-BLAST detector algorithms like ZF, MMSE and ML with and without successive cancellation and optimum ordering, for different modulation schemes to overcome MSI. The work is also extended to study the effect of Rayleigh channel fading correlation and antenna cross polarization coupling on these V-BLAST detectors. Simulation results show the tradeoff between bit error rate performance and computation complexity in various detectors. It is also observed that lesser the channel fading correlation and cross polarization coupling values better is the performance of these detector schemes.
