Abstract
This work proposes a novel numerical approach based on the boundary element method (BEM) for the efficient analysis of passive metallic and dielectric components, usually employed in microwave resonators, scatterers, and antennas. As an alternative to the method of moments, a direct discretisation algorithm (Nystrom method) is implemented here, which furnishes important improvements from a computational point of view. Numerical tests performed on canonical shapes confirm the advantageous features of the proposed approach and implementation.
