Abstract
This article explores the damage of marine debris such as plastics on marine environment according to the analysis on the formation of the Great Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch and the origin of plastic garbage there; then, it formulates the monitoring methods on marine debris at this oceanic area to record its size, density, growth, decay and movement, and eventually devises feasible solution proposals based on a comprehensive deliberation on the actual situation.
