After 30-year economic reform, the relationship between environment, resources, population and economic development is becoming increasingly tense. Chinese government has recognized the problem and found out a best possible solution-to transform the development mode from relying on agriculture and manufacture to on the tertiary industry, or service sector. This essay analyzes the current status of service economy in China, points out the problems of China in developing service economy and finally offers some policy suggestion for China to develop service economy.
