  • Abstract
After a major power system failure, the first stages of the restoration process are very critical because of the transient phenomena which may arise and cause damage to the equipment. In order to design restoration procedures taking these risks into account, Electricite de France has been led to use MORGAT, a tool initially designed for relay tests. Some results gained from simulation are given and compared with on-site results. They show that MORGAT is a suitable tool for the study of transient phenomena occurring during the first re-energizing procedures of the restoration plan
