Abstract
A new CNS/ATM system has been planned to be implemented in China. The VHF air/ground (A/G) data link has been set up as the first phase of the project for transition to the new CNS/ATM system. During the construction of the network, CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) has been developing the VHF A/G data communication network (VHF A/G DCN) and its application systems. This paper presents the general description of the phase one of the project, the research results of a typical application of ADS/ATC, and the feasibility scheme for interconnecting the CNS/ATM system with other VHF data network such as ARINC and SITA
