Abstract
A method is presented to accurately and rapidly measure the spot central position of a Gaussian pulsed laser, especially for an ultra-short pulsed laser. The measurement system consists of a translation stage, a wide-band oscilloscope, a power source and a novel photoelectric sensor with a cross-liked slit in its anode. By moving the photoelectric sensor the spot center is positioned where the photocurrent peak reaches the maximum. Finally how to improve the sensitivity of sensor is discussed and the optimal width of the cross-liked slit is calculated.
