  • Abstract
This paper deals with the study of an electromagnetic micro-motor of axial flux using 3D-FEM. First, the studied structure, designed and constructed in the EPFL, as well as the numerical model used, are introduced. Then, a coil of the motor is modeled and its self inductance determined. Afterwards, one third of the micro-motor is modeled and studied both at no load and load conditions. We point out the difficulties to obtain the useful electromagnetic torque whose value is very low. The simulation results are compared to measurements and show a good agreement.
