Abstract
With the advent of conductive polymers, it now appears feasible to take the basic concept of polymer concrete and make a conductive polymer concrete with tailored levels of electrical conductivity. In fact, preliminary conceptual studies point to the real possibility of arriving at a superconducting polymer concrete through the synergism achievable by the various components making up the composite. Collectively, Portland cement concrete and polymer concrete composites constitute two of the lowest cost but extremely versatile construction and industrial materials available in the world to-day. An intelligent but perhaps manoeuvred marriage of these materials can light the path to cheap & aesthetic shielding systems of interest in EMC applications
