Abstract
This paper presents the development and experimental verification of a high-speed permanent magnet motor simulation model. The used motor has maximal speed 42000 RPM, nominal speed 25000 RPM, nominal torque 1,2 Nm and nominal current 11 A. The verification is based on the motor start-up and spin down measurement. Specific issues of high-speed machines like modeling of air friction are addressed. The achieved results show a good agreement between the modeled and experimental results.
