  • Abstract
    System evolution in motion control produces an increased demand of miniaturization, reliability and higher performances that can be addressed only by mixed technology ICs. A new fully protected, programmable dual H-bridge motor driver IC was presented in this paper. The device is a one-chip power motor driver IC, able to control a two-phase stepper motor or up to four DC motors. A series of protection features gives the IC great robustness; the high integration makes it easy to use and allows system designing reducing the number of external components. The device can be used in many applications thanks to its high flexibility
