Abstract
This paper describes the architecture and the composition of a network-based substation simulation system. The concept of virtual simulation context is introduced and implemented for remote control among heterogeneous computer platforms. RTP/RTCP and dynamic QoS control mechanisms are used in the system to accomplish satisfied QoS. The experiments show that the system runs well both in LAN and in the Internet.
