Abstract
This paper presents results of an investigation of the quasi-instantaneous and statistical behaviour of the effective rain height for rain attenuation (at 12 GHz) in satellite links. The results are derived from point rainfall rate and radiometric attenuation measurements at two sites in the tropical and equatorial regions of Brazil
