Abstract
In this contribution we present the basic concepts of a senior course on logic process control based on Petri nets. This course is an introduction to basic design concepts and description formalisms of industrial logic control systems. It is mandatory for all students of electrical engineering specializing in the field of automation. One of the examples used throughout the course to illustrate the main concepts is presented. A discussion of the educational experiences is included.
