  • Abstract
In this paper, the authors present a simplified analysis and design of a DC-to-DC power converter unit (DDCU) using the improved Weinberg topology. The DDCU has the added complication that the turns ratio of the power transformer Ns/Np=m is different than the turns ratio of the inductor transformer NLS/NL=n. The state-space averaging approach is used for modeling the reduced order Weinberg power converter. This model can be used to drive frequency domain, transient and steady state responses for current mode and voltage mode control power converters. Through state-space averaging, the DDCU equivalent circuit can be used to obtain all the relevant power stage transfer functions. To verify the steady state and dynamic models results, a PSPICE simulation for a given design example is presented
