Abstract
In post-crisis era, private firms face increasing risks and uncertainties, which challenges the leader´s comprehensive quality and handling ability. Transformational leadership is considered as a unique style for crisis management and organizational change. The purpose of this paper is to provide a new perspective for improving private firms´ leadership skills through analyzing transformational leadership. It firstly identifies management challenges for private firm, and then discusses the concept of transformational leadership and case about Welch, based on the above, it makes an analysis of key elements of transformational leadership through case study of Welch´s practice, finally concludes the importance of transformational leadership for business implication.
