Abstract
Using a simple atmospheric model, with a statistical description derived from the few available data, it has been possible to interpret with good qualitative and quantitative agreement the difference in multipath occurrence observed on two space diversity channels whose only difference was the height of the receiving antenna. A simple equation giving account of this effect has been established. Our results show that, from a methodological point of view, simulation studies based on simple physical models can sometimes be of a great help to obtain the dependence of multipath on certain physical parameters, where a pure experimental study is not possible due to the lack of data. The dependence of multipath occurrance on antenna heights has been obtained in this way
