  • Abstract
This paper introduces a theory of geometry error modeling for laser beam optics, which is drawn on to establish geometry error model of laser beam optics for multi-axis laser processing robot. Homogeneous matrixes are employed to represent the positions of the characteristic points (laser source, incident point and the end of the laser beam) of the laser beam optics and the positions and gestures of the laser beam vectors. The ideal and real transmission of the laser beam can be expressed as the transformation of a 4 by 4 homogeneous matrix. Transfer function of light geometry error which can reflect the influence of each error source on the end error of the laser beam is given to describe the transmission error of the laser beam in detail. Based on this theory, the paper puts forward the ideal and real laser beam transmission path and error model of a five-axis laser processing robot.
