Abstract
Summary form only given. We analyze the role of multiparticle effects on the optical-gain performance of strongly confined CdSe nanocrystal quantum dots (NQDs). Our data indicate that multiparticle interactions and, in particular, interactions involving two electron-hole (e-h) pairs (biexcitons) have a significant effect on the optical-gain lifetime, its amplitude, and gain pump-intensity thresholds.
